Each year, children are denied the privilege to attend summer
camps… Camp fees range from $100-500/week. With your support,
children who are gifted and talented who submit an essay can attend-
Our Black Authors annual writer's camp for free. The camp
is open to children in grades 5-11. Our campers come from all
over the Washington metropolitan area to practice reading and
writing in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. We spend our mornings
in writing workshops and our afternoons engaged in adventures
such as horseback riding, swimming, arts and crafts, basketball
and a field trip. Our campers go home confident and our parents
are happy.
